Whisper Aero Holds First Annual Supplier Summit
Whisper Aero held its first Supplier Summit at Whisper HQ in Crossville, Tennessee. Over fifty companies with expertise spanning production of motors, batteries, power electronics, composites, metallics, and engineering polymers gathered at Whisper Aero’s facilities to align on partnership opportunities for groundbreaking projects set to launch this summer and fall.
Whisper’s collaborations build out a robust American supply chain network that enables them to outpace other electric propulsion providers by driving competitive price points and performance for the defense, commercial, and aviation sectors. “The Supplier Summit enabled Whisper’s team to align with our partners on how to execute projects next year with industry-leading speed, quality, and cost through a US supply chain. We are grateful for our partner companies across the machining, composites, molding, power electronics, motors, and batteries sectors joining us for this event,” stated Patrick Brew, Whisper Technical Program Manager and leader of the event. Many of the team’s engineers spoke directly with suppliers, forging key partnerships to meet Whisper’s customer demand both in the near and long term.
The Summit provided an exclusive opportunity for existing suppliers to deepen their understanding of Whisper Aero’s innovative projects and capabilities. The propulsion focused event also piqued the interest of potential new suppliers, highlighting exciting opportunities for future collaboration and partnership within the Whisper supplier network. Participants were given an unprecedented opportunity to see Whisper’s technology in action during private demonstrations of products across the Whisper portfolio. Over the next few weeks, Whisper will build on conversations during the event and begin locking agreements to meet customer demand.
Important stakeholders from the state were present to welcome Whisper Aero’s suppliers and express the state’s support for Whisper Aero’s mission. TNECD Stuart McWhorter said: “Tennessee is fortunate to have a vast network of research institutions statewide that provide immense support to our industry partners. Today, Whisper Aero is opening its third location in the state since 2021, which is nothing short of a testament to our business-friendly climate, skilled workforce and research and development assets. We are proud to have this cutting-edge brand in Tennessee and believe their continued investment will further strengthen and build out our innovation ecosystem in the years to come."
Although this year’s Supplier Summit has concluded, the Whisper Aero team continues to keep an eye toward potential collaborators. Innovation isn’t regionally limited, interested companies looking to work with Whisper Aero can reach out by email to suppliersummit@whisper.aero.
